    Our baggage and freight policies.

Here are some general guidelines to ensure a great flight for you and your belongings.

Twin Cities is committed to handling your baggage with the utmost care. We hope the following information will assist you with your baggage planning.

During the normal rigors of air travel your luggage will be transported on conveyor belts and travel on baggage carts and may encounter weather conditions such as rain, snow, wind or sun light. In addition your luggage will move and shift during take off, flight and landing.

    General baggage tips.

Identification: All items are required to have identification on them, and we strongly recommend identification inside as well.

Claim Checks:  Please check be certain you have your luggage and not someone else’s.

Valuables: Never check laptop computers, jewelry, keys, medication, audio or video equipment or other electronics, travel documents, passports, cash, legal documents, antiques etc. in checked baggage. The FAA prohibits “carry-on” baggage on Twin Cities aircraft. You may place a personal item in the wing when boarding – so please make sure your valuables are in your personal wing item.

Medication in Checked Baggage: Always keep important medications in your personal wing item, never in checked baggage.

    What we accept.

Checked Baggage: 50 pounds per passenger maximum, no limit on number of bags. Please do not bring the extra large square bags.

Carry-out Baggage: You may place a personal wing item (laptop, briefcase, diaper bag etc.) not to exceed 36 linear inches or 18" x 11" x 7", in the wing when boarding. If your personal item doesn’t fit in the wing sizer it will need to be checked.

Excess Baggage: Excess baggage is transported on a space available basis and additional charges may apply. If we place an excess tag on one or more of your bags it does not necessarily mean the bag will not get on the flight.

Overweight Baggage: We cannot accept baggage weighing over 70 lbs.

Fishing Equipment: We accept fishing equipment. We can not be liable for damage to fishing equipment not packed in hard side case. A limited release tag is required.

Unusually shaped objects: Bicycles, surfboards, canoes, kayaks and other such large pieces or sporting equipment exceed the capacity of the compartments and are not accepted for transport.

Golf Bags: We accept golf bags on a space available basis; however, we can not be liable for loss or damage to equipment in open golf bags.

Pets: We gladly accept pets on our flights. For this reason, it's important that you make a reservation for your pet.  Please review our pet policy.

If you have any questions about traveling with a pet, please call a Customer Service Representative at 1-800-564-3882 or 207-782-3882.

For more information, see our full Travel Policy, by clicking here.

Baggage in Cabin Seats: We do not accept cabin-seat baggage except FAA approved child seats.

    Hazardous materials.

Your safety is our greatest concern. For everyone’s safety; if in doubt - leave it out!

Hazardous Items: Do not pack; poisons, solvents, household chemicals, camping equipment with fuel or Sterno, pressurized containers such as propane tanks, scuba tanks (empty tanks allowed) CO2 cartridges, self inflating devices, fireworks, signal flares, excessive ammunition, gunpowder, mace, tear gas or similar items.

Dangerous/Hazardous Items: Items defined as hazardous or dangerous; knives, handguns, mace, pepper spray, tear gas and brass knuckles are not allowed to be placed in your personal wing item.

    Liability.

Valuables/Fragile Items: Twin Cities can not be liable for valuables, fragile items, unsuitably packed items, or perishable items in checked baggage or in personal wing bags, with or without our knowledge. Please let us know in advance if something is particularly fragile; while we cannot accept liability for it, we can do our best to find the most suitable area in the aircraft to stow it.

Normal wear and tear: Luggage is designed to protect its contents. Twin Cities can not be liable for minor exterior damage; scratches, scuffs, stains, dents, cuts and dirt resulting from normal wear and tear of baggage.

Claims: Most delayed baggage arrives within 24 hours and during this initial period we will make every effort to reunite you with your luggage as quickly as possible.

Baggage that is delayed or damaged should be reported to the pilot, in person, before leaving the airport.

If there's something you need to transport, give us a call and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Objects of unusual size will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Some items may need to travel on stand-by.

Dimensional weight vs. straight freight rates will be calculated depending on the situation.
Call us with the dimensions and we'll take it from there.
